Importing Access Databases

Importing Microsoft Access databases (2000 and higher) with the importer is pretty straightforward (see it in action in this video), however there’s a little thing not that intuitive that’s worth knowing.

By default, when the file browser dialog pops-up so you can pick your database, there’s a file type filter set to “Microsoft Access Databases (*.mdb)”:

Since the default file type of Access databases is now “.accdb”, your database won’t show-up in the dialog.

Set it to “All Files (*.*)”, select your .accdb database, and it’ll work just fine 🙂
